"The Jump" was painted for an assignment to create an unusual or surreal self-portrait. It responds to the question "How do we see ourselves?". The dress I am wearing in this painting is one I made myself during an independent study in 2022. It is made with completely recycled/second-hand materials, and took hours of hand stitching to create the silk and pearl flowers. This is representative of my values of environmentalism, fashion, and painting.
